This page documents a small project of mine to re-build the Archipelago MUD as it was in the mid to late 90s.<\/p>\n

You can access it publicly on sdf.org:28902<\/strong> (warning, this is still being worked on so you may find bugs or other issues, it may be down at times). For Help\/guides see the ‘manuals’ section in the ZIP distrubution of the MUD below.<\/p>\n

Archipelago MUD restoration project is now on Facebook – this is the best place to message me about the MUD (https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/archimud<\/a>\/), for files see ‘src and world files’ link below, also available on Archive.org\u00a0 (https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/archipelago-mud<\/a>), the MUD is also listed on Mudstats<\/strong> (http:\/\/mudstats.com\/World\/ArchipelagoMUD<\/a>) and MUD Connector<\/strong> (may take a while to show up but try searching for Archipelago MUD in near future).

Help using the MUD<\/strong>
\nThe MUD archive\/ZIP (see link below or on Archive.org) contains numerous manuals and help files for use\/admin, also see RK Chin’s site<\/a> (one of the original Archi implementors which is still online).<\/p>\n

The ‘restored’ version of Archipelago files
\n<\/strong>To date I have re-built and re-arranged the core areas and deactivated areas which were deprecated.\u00a0The archive below provides latest versions of the files as I am working on them, Note – this not the cut down public release of Archipelago (shown in the compiling instructions below) this larger restored version should not need tweaks to the code and should compile from the src directory using ‘make’ on most unix type systems without modifying the makefile:\u00a0 See\u00a0Archipelago src and world files latest version<\/a>\u00a0(Updated 14-09-19 2343). <\/strong><\/span>For updates to the code see the motd or immotd in the ‘lib’ folder. Note the special makefile shown its own folder for Cygwin, Mingw, Mysys etc.<\/p>\n

Older cut-down version of Archipelago released in late 90s
\n<\/strong>Also see Instructions for running the older cut down\/publicly released version of the MUD<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0 this is the original stock\/basic version of Archipelago available on the circlemud FTPs site, with many less features than the version I have re-built above but it gives you some idea how to compile.<\/p>\n
